King
of Kings continues to grow into the missional congregation God is
calling us to be. Following our mission trips in 2010, we are already
planning three trips in 2011.
Our adults will return to Mustard Seed Ministry in Goshen, New York.
These "Mission Trippers" will be sharing their experiences of God's
work at worship on Sunday, October 3rd.
Our Senior Youth Group returned from Philadelphia after spending a week
at a number of different mission sites as they collaborated with the
Center for Student Missions. They will tell their story on Sunday,
September 19th.
Next summer we plan to work with
JOSHUA cooperative ministries in Steubenville, Ohio. This event is open
to all youth who have completed their freshman year in high school.
We continue to support a number of
benevolent projects with our tithes and offerings as well as sharing
household items and giving of our time. During the summer of 2010 we
welcomed two more families through our active support of the Center for
New Americans. Matthew 25 Farm in Tully drew a few carloads of people
ranging in age from 6 - adult, and several hundred pounds of food was
picked and distributed to the food pantry we support in Syracuse.
These are
exciting times at King of Kings. Come and join us as we worship and
praise God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
