Rev. Paul A. Herpich, Pastor

Adult Spiritual Formation

King of Kings welcomes you into Christian Spiritual Formation. We offer many groups for members and visitors in areas of prayer, study, fellowship, worship and mission. There is a place for everyone.

FELLOWSHIP GROUPS
Movie Madness - Meets about every other month to view and discuss a movie. The weekly bulletin will list the date. Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board in the narthex. Sometimes we meet in the home of a member, and sometimes at church, so note the location when you sign up.

Women's Activities - Events for the women such as pool parties and wine tastings are publicized in The King's Crown and on the bulletin board. Costs vary depending on the event.

Out-to-Lunch Bunch - Meets monthly (usually the first Tuesday of the month) at a local restaurant for lunch (11:30 am). Please see bulletin board and King’s Weekly bulletin insert for location.

PRAYER GROUPS
Prayer Fellowship - This monthly small group gathers to pray for one another's prayer requests and the concerns of the church. Join Prayer Fellowship on the first Sunday of every month at 9:30 am.

Prayer Chain - Prayer concerns are passed by e-mail or phone to members of the Prayer Chain.
If you are interested in being on this chain, please contact the church office.

READING GROUPS
M&Ms (Women's Bible &/or book study) -
This group meets on Tuesdays twice a month (12:30-2:00 pm) at Debbie Baranowski's home. This group reads and discusses books or works through a Bible study using a published series. They may rotate leadership of the discussion, but only on participant comfort level. They do not meet in the summer.

Book Study - Participants in this book study vary depending on interest in the topic
. Often a member may suggest a great book they've read, and thus initiates a discussion session. Usually held in someone's home, this group signs up, purchases a copy of the book for themselves, and comes for a "one night" conversation. Currently, however, those who read Samir Selmanovic's It's All About God: Reflections of a Muslim Atheist Jewish Christian decided to meet for a second evening.

STUDY GROUPS
Sunrise Guys
- Meets every other Friday morning at 6am at Steve Miller's house. Check the Sunday bulletin for meeting dates.

Bethel Bible Series - Steve and Scarlett Erdley are teaching this series, which offers an overview of the Bible from Genesis to Revelations. This consists of six 7-week sessions and takes two years to complete (summers excluded).

BLT - Meets Tuesday mornings from 9:30 - 11am in the parlor for Bible Study, fellowship, goodies, and prayer with Pastor Paul. Known for the best birthday parties in town, this group continues its tradition of Bible Laughter Talk/Treats, and sharing prayer concerns. In the summer, this group socializes at Bagelicious in Bayberry Plaza.

Summer Reading - Pastor Paul's summer reading course has covered books related to scripture as well as doctrinal studies and offers a little deeper look at topics of choice by Pastor or suggestions from members. See the King’s Crown for more information and sign up on the bulletin board.

Adult Forum - Meets on Sunday mornings in the parlor during the Sunday School hour (9:30 am). Discussions vary based on who is leading - Topics of concern, Bible studies, guest speakers, talk-back from the sermon/morning lessons, etc.

RETREATS
We offer an annual congregational retreat at a local retreat center for our adults. A leader guides us in study, worship and fellowship. Information for upcoming retreats will be posted on the bulletin board as well as the King’s Crown newsletter.

The women plan a winter retreat in February (topics have included "Chocolate Boutique," "Bloomery," "Bad Girls of the Bible," and "Beth Moore"). Watch for information about upcoming retreats.

MISSION TRIPS
Elsewhere on the website there are pictures of some of the youth mission trips and short term opportunities to serve people in our community and world. Such trips began with the youth, but soon the adults wanted to share in that ministry, so at this time King of Kings offers 3 mission trips per year as leaders step forward to organize them (Youth - 9th-12th grade), Young Adult (College age and our 20s/30s), Adult (any adult in the congregation). These groups have worked in New Orleans, Steubenville, Baltimore, Goshen, Cleveland NY, and a couple of places in Florida. Their experiences are shared in worship, on the website, and through published booklets. These are life-changing events.
